This unique and highly unusual 1972 Mercedes-Benz 350 SLC Targa is now available for sale from The Patina Collective Selection.

Believed to be the only T-Top Mercedes-Benz SLC (Targa) in existence, this special C107 combines period coachbuilt styling with the grand touring character that made the SLC platform such an icon. Showing approximately 171k miles.

Finished in a two-tone gold and brown color combination over a matching interior, this example features removable steel roof panels creating a true open-air experience unlike any factory SLC ever produced. Release is achieved through a lever mechanism on each side, allowing the roof sections to be removed and stored before driving.

Power comes from Mercedes-Benz’s 3.5-liter V8 paired with a highly desirable 4-speed manual transmission, adding an extra layer of driver engagement rarely seen on SLC models. Open-top visibility creates a spacious cabin atmosphere while delivering a distinctly European grand touring experience.

Throughout its history, this car spent time in the Netherlands where it was fitted with a hybrid propane-gasoline system, which remains present in the trunk. Returning the vehicle to gasoline-only operation should not prove difficult, as much of the original hardware remains available.
